Hi! We are Mia & Wes, co-founders, co-operators, and co-artistic directors of Budding Heads. Individually, we’re very different performers and theatre makers, but we’ve always shared a few core artistic values: sincere storytelling, art as a communal experience, and a spot at the table for all involved in a project. These are the roots of Budding Heads.

We strive to showcase honesty and originality while creating space for healthy artistic conflict throughout the process. Through working together, we’ve discovered that inviting ourselves to voice our conflicting ideas and explore the space in between them ultimately leads to more human, more nuanced, more truthful pieces of art. We believe that all artists deserve to feel autonomy over their work and to have a platform from which to speak in the development of the work.
