Scab for Hire at the MN Fringe Festival
We are so excited to remount Wesley Tilford’s original play Scab for Hire at this year’s Minnesota Fringe Festival! Scab for Hire’s onstage debut in July 2025 was Budding Heads’s inaugural production, and we can’t wait to revisit this love letter to silent film, workers’ rights, & friendship.

Veracity Workshop & Staged Reading
Written by Mia Martinez & Zach Sain, Veracity is an epic tale exploring truth, faith, and choice as it follows two siblings torn apart by war. We’re eager to dig into this text through a workshop that will culminate in a public staged reading of the play!
Our workshop & staged reading of Veracity are scheduled for October 2026.
Foundations: A Variety Showcase
A new take on our winter variety showcase, Foundations will feature pieces that honor performers’ artistic origins & foundations. Seeking to present a wide array of performance styles, we’re eager to collaborate with other performing artists to pay homage to the art that made them fall in love with performing!
Foundations: A Variety Showcase is scheduled for January 2027.
Medea
Euripides’ infamous classic, Medea recounts the story of the sorceress scorned who exacts her revenge by any means necessary. Adapted by Mia Martinez, directed by Wesley Tilford, and starring Mia in the titular role, this production will also feature original music!
Medea is scheduled to perform April 2027.
The Harvest: A Mini Arts Festival
Calling all theatre companies, performing troupes, bands, tap duos, and more! The Harvest will be a mini arts festival featuring different performing groups from around the Twin Cities and celebrating the inherent community created through art.
The Harvest is scheduled for June 2027.
Light Workers: A Scab for Hire Story
The next chapter in the Scab for Hire universe (the SHU, if you will), Light Workers is a web series that takes place after the events of the play. The Scab & the Opossum are back in action and Liliana & Tyler are still out of sorts; it’s up to the first duo to swoop in before the latter pair implodes!
Light Workers: A Scab for Hire Story is scheduled to be released February 2027.
